Philip began his teaching career in 2013 and has taught across a wide range of English subjects, from phonics to business English. Philip taught in the northeast of England, Thailand, and Australia before joining QA as part of the Roehampton Pathways team in early 2020.
Philip has a reflective and adaptable approach to teaching. He enjoys staying up to date with new technology and software, particularly in the current climate, to create a blended teaching style that is inclusive and engaging. Trademarks of his teaching: Pre and Post Lesson videos to explain complex topics more clearly, non-academic debates/conversations at the beginning of each lesson to encourage participation/engagement, and anonymous student surveys.
Outside of work, Philip is always keeping busy. He enjoys live stand-up comedy, both watching and performing! He is also very active: a keen gym-goer, runner, and budding yogi. When he is taking a more relaxed approach to his spare time, he enjoys cooking, the beach, and reading (particularly the novels of P.G. Wodehouse).Back to Academics
