Studying in London

Things to do on campus

The University of Roehampton’s Barnes campus is a great location to be a student. Studying at a parkland campus enables you to take advantage of the stunning scenery and open spaces. You will find there is much to keep you entertained on campus, from high quality sports facilities to an active student union. The campus also boasts its very own Starbucks, perfect for both working and relaxing.

Things to do off campus

Off campus, students can easily explore all London has to offer. Central London is just 30 minutes away by train and opens up a wide range of experiences for you and your friends. Visit world-class attractions such as Big Ben, Hampton Court Palace or St Paul’s Cathedral and take in the rich culture this city has to offer.

Alternatively, London’s suburbs have plenty of interesting things to see including unique restaurants, cafes, parks and markets – the city is waiting for you to explore it.

Halal food

Halal food can be found all over London in many restaurants and supermarkets. For some of the best Halal food in London, make sure you head to Tooting. Visit the markets and restaurants there for some of the best Halal food the city has to offer. For more information on the Halal food that’s available, visit this website for a Londoner’s view on where to find the best Halal food.

Places of worship (Islam)

London has worldwide recognition for being one of the most multicultural cities in the world. In London there are many opportunities for you to practice your faith:

  • The London Mosque, Southfields
  • Parsons Green Mosque
  • Wimbledon Mosque

The campus is also fully equipped with two Muslim prayer rooms as well as a Muslim faith adviser.

Accommodation

We understand that studying abroad will often mean that you are living away from home for the first time. There are plenty of accommodation options whether you decide to live on or off campus.
